Top Things to Do in Cabo San Lucas
Whether you want to relax by the sea or go on an adrenaline-pumping adventure, Cabo has something for everyone.
1. Visit El Arco at Land’s End
El Arco (“The Arch”) is a dramatic rock formation, part of a cluster of rock formations just off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, that marks the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. You can take a boat tour, kayak, or even paddleboard out to this stunning natural wonder.
Nearby landmarks include:
-
Lover’s Beach (Playa del Amor) – Calm waters on the Sea of Cortez side
-
Divorce Beach (Playa del Divorcio) – Rougher surf on the Pacific side
-
Pelican Rock – A popular snorkeling spot
We kayaked out to El Arco from the marina in Cabo San Lucas, which was a great way to see the arch. Afterwards we swung by Lover’s Beach and Divorce Beach (you can walk between them!). After that we did some snorkeling on Pelican Rock and saw some great fish!
I would highly recommend a tour for doing this trip. The tour we did provided several instructors, kayaks and snorkeling equipment, and picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel.
2. Chill Out at Medano Beach
This is Cabo’s most popular beach — and for good reason. With calm waters perfect for swimming and tons of beachside bars and restaurants, it’s the heart of the action.
3. Go Whale Watching (Seasonal)
From December to April, humpback and gray whales migrate through the waters near Cabo. Many tours offer up-close encounters and unforgettable photo ops.
4. Explore San José del Cabo
A 30-minute drive away, San José offers a quieter, artsier side of Los Cabos. Stroll through colorful streets, browse art galleries, and enjoy farm-to-table dining. Read more about San Jose del Cabo here.
5. Take a Sunset Cruise
Board a catamaran or sailing yacht and cruise along the coast as the sun dips into the Pacific. It’s romantic, relaxing, and postcard-perfect.
6. Go Snorkeling or Scuba Diving
Chileno Bay and Santa Maria Bay are some of the best spots for snorkeling, with vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish. Certified divers can explore shipwrecks, underwater caves, and pelagic marine life.
7. Experience Cabo Nightlife
Cabo is known for its lively nightlife scene. Hit up Cabo Wabo Cantina, Squid Roe, or The Giggling Marlin for dancing, drinks, and live music.
